Program:
/* ............... START ............... */
# Getting keys:
my_dict = {"a": 1, "b": 2, "c": 3}
# Get keys using keys() method
keys = my_dict.keys()
print(keys)
## Getting values:
my_dict = {"a": 1, "b": 2, "c": 3}
# Get values using values() method
values = my_dict.values()
print(values)
## Getting keys and values:
my_dict = {"a": 1, "b": 2, "c": 3}
# Get keys and values using items() method
items = my_dict.items()
print(items)
/* ............... END ............... */
Output
Please find ouput of the three program above.
dict_keys(['a', 'b', 'c'])
dict_values([1, 2, 3])
dict_items([('a', 1), ('b', 2), ('c', 3)])
Notes:
-
First example, the keys() method is used to retrieve a view object containing all the keys of the dictionary. The view object can be converted to a list if needed, using the list() function.
- Second example, the values() method is used to retrieve a view object containing all the values of the dictionary. Similar to the keys, the view object can be converted to a list using the list() function.
- Third example, the items() method is used to retrieve a view object containing tuples of key-value pairs from the dictionary. Each tuple consists of a key-value pair enclosed in parentheses. Again, the view object can be converted to a list if desired.
- You can iterate over the keys, values, or items using a for loop or perform other operations on them as per your requirements.
